Q: Is the gallery free to visit?

A: Yes! LumiNoir Art Gallery admission is free to all visitors during our opening hours displayed on each exhibition poster.

Q: Is the Private View event open to the public?
​
A: All of LumiNoir's Private View events are open to the public, everyone is welcome, and artists are encouraged to bring along friends, family, colleagues, and to make new connections with other artists and guests.

Q: Is the gallery step-free?
​
A: The main floor of the gallery has one step. We have a ramp available for use at the entrance, however there is no lift to the lower floor.

Q: How can I show my work at LumiNoir Art Gallery?
​
A: If you would like to show your artwork at LumiNoir, check the 'Open Call' page above, and social media accounts (@Luminoirart) where we post opportunities to apply to an exhibition, with more information included in the corresponding application. Follow the link provided and you will be brought to the application document with all of the necessary details, key dates, and more.

Q: What is an Artist Residency at LumiNoir Art, and what are the expectations?
​
A: Each Artist Residency is unique, at LumiNoir artists have the opportunity to apply (within the Open Call application) to participate in a residency where they will have space in the gallery while the show is ongoing to create artwork, receive feedback and advice. This residency is intended for artists showing artwork in an exhibition at LumiNoir Art Gallery to create new works expressed in the application form proposal, throughout the opening hours of the exhibition. Artists will be provided with desk space to work within the gallery setting, and are expected to attend the residency majority of the open hours.

Q: What is a Critical Review and how do I acquire one?
​
A: A critical review is a personalised, in-depth article that explores your artistic process, conceptual interests, and creative direction. It highlights the materials, methods, and themes that define your work, offering a thoughtful reflection that can help articulate your practice to a wider audience. A review like this can be a valuable addition to your professional materials ideal for your website, grant, and residency applications, or press kit. It not only presents your work with clarity and insight but also demonstrates a serious, reflective engagement with your craft.

Each article will also be published in the Magazine section of our website, providing further visibility within the art community. We will also share the articles on our magazine’s social media platforms and may include them in print in our physical magazine.
We offer flexible pricing based on the writer you choose reflecting their level of experience and expertise as well as the length of the review. We’ll be happy to provide a clear quote upon enquiry; there’s no commitment required at this stage.

Q: What happens if I didn't pick up my work during the specified time?
​
A: It is essential that drop-off and collection of artwork happens during the designated time slots given within the application and communicated to artists by the gallery via email. If there is a concern about meeting the stated time slots, please contact LumiNoir (luminoirart@gmail.com) as soon as possible and within a reasonable time frame prior to the designated drop-off/collection dates to discuss possible alternatives. We cannot guarantee access to the space at all times and will do our best to find a solution with you.​

If you have not notified the gallery, and/or have left an artwork at LumiNoir Art Gallery beyond the collection time stated without a prior agreement, a storage fee will be incurred at a daily rate. Please get in contact as soon as possible to avoid any additional fees or complications.

Q: Can someone else drop-off and collect my artwork to an exhibition I have been selected for?
​
A: Yes, a trusted third-party may drop-off and/or collect artwork, if LumiNoir has been notified through email prior to the designated drop-off/collection time slot. LumiNoir asks that within the email requesting an alternative person to manage the transportation of your work, that their name and contact information is provided to ensure that the artwork only leaves the gallery with the correct person. The packaging of the artwork is the responsibility of the person collecting the artwork, gallery personnel may be able to assist, however are managing the flow of artworks for the entire exhibition within this time frame.

Q: Will I hear back if my application to an Open call was unsuccessful?
​
A: Unfortunately, due to the amount of applications and inquiries, Luminoir is currently unable to give notice or feedback on all applications. If your application has been selected, you will recieve notice via e-mail with additional important information regarding the exhibition in which you were selected for.
